How they met: Match.com

Details, please: The couple married at Sacramento’s historic Crest Theatre on K Street. The wedding showcased the bride’s love of vintage pop culture. “Everything I [wore] was vintage, except my dress,” says Amber, who donned 1950s rhinestone heels and carried a bouquet made of candy, created by longtime friend Vincent Damyanovich. The marquee outside the theater announced the bride’s and groom’s names like a movie title, and a friend created two movie posters in honor of the day. Inside, guests encountered a concession stand filled with vintage candy and cigarette girls handing out bags of popcorn and 3-D-style glasses for the couple’s 3-D movie theater-style program. Amber’s friend, local comedian Keith Lowell Jensen, served as master of ceremonies.

Memorable moments: “My dad, who I’ve thought is the coolest guy to walk the Earth since I was a kid . . . he’s kinda shy but he came out of nowhere and stood up on a chair and gave a toast that was so funny,” recalls the bride. The bands Xenophilia, which used to do opening music for Amber's comedy troupe, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Comedy, and LoveTrain got the party going. Bridesmaid Amy Anne Russell performs with both bands, so this added to the fun.

Don’t forget Pooh: One flower girl carried a lollypop bouquet, the other the bride’s beloved Pooh bear. “I love that bear so much,” Amber admits.
