I got an e-mail the
other day about a new trend in bridal registries: wedding registry websites. Sure, a couple can go through Macy’s or Target and register for specific items. But these days, many couples are opting to register on websites that allocate money to their honeymoon (honeyfund.com), a house (hatchmyhouse.com), or even their favorite charity (idofoundation.org). There are specific registries for lingerie (bedroomisboutique.com) and wine (wineenthusiast.com—scroll to the bottom of the website). And if you really just want money but don’t want to commit the etiquette no-no of asking for it, you can ask for the next best thing—gift cards (cardavenue.com). Finally, you can register for items at multiple stores under one registry by going to myregistry.com, which has an iPhone app that allows couples to scan and upload items to the registry at any time.
