Crystal and Ryan Trojanowski had the dream wedding: a country club reception setting, exquisite flowers—even a professional videographer who aired the fully edited video before the reception was over.

And it didn’t cost the Lincoln couple a penny.

The Trojanowskis won the whole package, chosen by listeners of Sacramento radio station 107.9 FM, “The End.” The two beat out some 400 other would-be brides and grooms to snare the $64,000 prize, which was co-sponsored by VideoBridalGuide.com. All major wedding purchases were covered by the winning package.

“We were [not] planning on having a big wedding, because we couldn’t afford it,” says Crystal, a massage therapist at Zimbali salon in Granite Bay. Husband Ryan works in his family’s business, Emerald Tile and Stone. “Not only did we finally find each other, [but] we got this amazing day handed to us.”

It did take some doing. Crystal and Ryan spent nearly a month refining their entry. They took a “He Said/She Said” approach on the essay, relating how they jumped on trampolines and watched The Lion King together as young family friends, but didn’t start dating until their early 20s.

Ryan, Crystal and the other finalists then made video appeals that were posted online for listeners to vote on. “It was the first time of my life I have ever experienced anxiety,” says Crystal.

The couple wed on Nov. 9, 2007. The ceremony was held at the Flower Farm in Loomis, and the reception took place at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin.
