Photography Discovery: Teri Fode Photography Discovery: Teri Fode

A photographer recently e-mailed me -- someone new, who I haven't heard of. Her name is Teri Fode and she does some amazing work. She contaced me regarding a recent wedding she shot -- the Pennisi's, who married at Scribner Bend -- to submit for a Real Wedding in our next issue. (One of their stunning wedding photos is pictured at left.) Pull up her blog and see more images of this beautiful couple. And thanks to Teri for sharing!

The Staircase: A Classic Bridal Photo Op The Staircase: A Classic Bridal Photo Op

Ford Family Photography is bringing me back to the classics: a bridal portrait on a staircase. Check out this amazing image from their blog (shown at left) of bride named Tracy. Tracy and groom Tim were just married at Arden Hills. See Form Family Photo's blog post from Sept. 12 for more amazing images from this glam wedding.

O Tinywater, Be Still My Beating Heart O Tinywater, Be Still My Beating Heart

Oh Tinywater, why are your photos so amazing? I love the texture, the grittiness of the real lives you capture. The details of the details. The surrounding around the setting. Whatever photo shop processes you're using, they're hitting on all the right levels.

See Tinywater's most recent amazing photos here, on their blog. The picture at the left is from an engagement session of a couple named Hazel and Anthony.

I will also take submissions of couples who live in the greater Sacramento area (or live in Northern CA) and had a destination wedding. I'll consider images for the print magazine and for online. Please email me a link to an image gallery or mail me a disc with 30 images from the wedding to Haley Myers, Editor, Our Wedding, 706 56th St., Ste. 210, Sacramento, 95819. Feel free to email me with questions as well.

Videography Info Videography Info

I spoke with Eric Leas of Acti-Video today. The reason we were talking was to educate me about what is entailed in video editing, and the timeline brides/couples should expect to receive final DVDs. (This was because in the most recent issue, we published a story called "Capturing the Moment" that contained misleading info saying brides could expect photo AND video editing to take about a month. While I confirmed the one-month turn-around time with four photogs, such is not the case with video.) Turns out, video editing is really invovled and takes more like 6 - 9 months, depending on how busy your videographer is. Another thing I learned: Sometimes videographers will give super-anxious clients their raw, unedited video footage if they really beg for it, and you can get that in as soon as a couple weeks. But Eric was super helpful. E-mail Eric or me if you have further quesitons.
