So...Sacramento, moving up in the world, eh? Another "Platinum Weddings" episode was recently filmed in our humble town at Arden Hills. The couple? Frank and Charity Sigrist. The photographer? Christopher Kight. The wedding planner? Aimee Wendell of 2Chic Events and Design. The result? AMAZING. Incredible. Grace Ormond incredible. I am wowed. Thanks to Frank for contacting me. This is also on my list for considerations for real weddings in our next issue! For more info and some more glimpses into this spectacular Sacramento wedding, look at Audrey of Botanica Floral Design's blog. Ah-ah-mazing.

Hey! Here's an image from a photo shoot Our Wedding did at the lovely Orchard Creek Lodge. Mimi & Co. did the linens, Pulp Papery did the table numbers and menus, and Rachel Valley took the photos that appear in the new issue. (This is my photo, and Rachel's are far superior.) Take a look for yourself.

I recently received an e-mail from Chiara Sernesi, wedding coordinator and business owner for Weddings in Tuscany. Anyone looking for a wedding all about the experience and the memories and adventure must check this out. Plus, major advantage, you could already be in your honeymoon destination as soon as the wedding is over.
So who is this woman, and is the biz legit? I think it is. Sernesi was raised in Florence and started her business back in 1995, reaching out to corporations for retreats. So she's been doing this for a while, but started targeting brides and grooms in 2002. If you want to learn more, check out her website or send her an e-mail. She responded to me super quick. I'm already feeling jealous...

Who wouldn't want to get married at Grand Island Mansion? Located in Walnut Grove, it offers some of the most lovely architectural details to couples looking for a venue in the greater Sac area. Grand Island Mansion can accommodate large weddings--up to 500 outdoors!--and is a stylish choice no matter the season. There's an on-site bakery for your cake, and the rental fees aren't as much as you'd expect (topping off at about $3,000 just to rent the space). Accommodations are availble on site for the lucky couple, and there are certainly deals to be had if you're in a shopping mood. See our article, "Sacramento's Classic Wedding Venues," from the Fall Winter 2009 issue for more info.

The Claremont Hotel in Berkeley is a nice wedding venue that's just come to my attention. There's a view of San Francisco Bay from the honeymoon suites, and there's a spa and salon on site, which offers facials, massage, manicures, pedicures and wedding day makeup and hair styling. A coordinator at the Claremont is part of the deal if you book your wedding there. Did I mention it's beautiful?
