Sacramento Couture Runway and Bridal Show

Memories of our eighth grade graduation may be fuzzy, but we remember the black, knee-length number we wore to collect our diploma. Our junior and senior prom dates were blah, but the purple satin dress with full skirt and classic black strapless are not forgotten. Memories will fade, be we always know what we wore—so what about the dress?

While most of us may never strut down the catwalk, that does not mean your wedding dress can’t! On Aug. 17 from 1–5 p.m., Memorial Auditorium transforms into New York Fashion Week for brides. The inaugural Sacramento Couture and Bridal Show showcases gowns from Miosa’s 2015 Bridal Collection, many worn by actual brides. One bride will win a $5000 gift certificate to Miosa, one of the area’s leading bridal shops for more than 25 years.

Still not convinced it’s all about the dress? Step into a whimsical wonderland with twinkle lights, live plants and an ice bar designed by The Party Concierge. Sip a Blushing Bride Peachtini courtesy of Classique Catering while perusing booths of other local wedding vendors.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. VIP tickets are $75. Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to Wish Upon a Wedding, a nonprofit organization that provides weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness and serious life altering circumstances.
