Good to Know: The convenience factor here is high. According to Arden Hills marketing director Courtney CaJacob, a bride can check into a room at the Villas the night before her wedding, get her nails done at the spa, and have dinner at one of two restaurants at Arden Hills. Breakfast is included with the stay, and after the morning meal, the bride-to-be can head to Salon Cabochon onsite for bridal hair and makeup.
Deals: Daytime weddings can save up to half the cost. Friday and Sunday evenings offer lower room rental rates and lower food and beverage minimums.

This 6,000 square foot ballroom has original 40-foot gold leaf ceilings and a marble dance floor. “It’s one of the most historic buildings in downtown Sacramento,” says Judy Haeling, President of Event Architects, the exclusive leasing agent for the Sacramento Grand Ballroom.
Good to Know: The Ballroom was built in 1912 as the Bank of D.L. Mills.

What Makes it Classic: The grounds feel like a Tuscan villa. The gardens are so lovely, “You don’t need a lot of extra flowers or décor,” says event coordinator Amy Newton. “The decorations take care of themselves.”
Good to Know: Villa Toscano specializes in Zinfandel and all wines are grown in the Shenandoah Valley. Their wines are more Californian in flight—smoother than hearty, robust European wines, with more fruit.
